Louisiana's Ambassadors of Goodwill, carrying the message of Christ with traditional four-part harmony since 1978.
The Southern Plainsmen Quartet is an acclaimed Southern Gospel ministry based in Hornbeck, Louisiana. Originally formed in 1978, the group has traveled millions of miles across the country, sharing the message of Christ with their trademark style of traditional four-part gospel harmony.
The group features Marcelle Slaughter (Owner, Manager, Tenor, MC, the sole remaining founding member), Robert Jackson (Lead), Tim Thomas (Baritone, Bass Guitar, Sound, an ordained Baptist minister), and Jeff Bordelon (Bass).
In 1998, they were officially appointed "Louisiana's Ambassadors of Goodwill" by Governor Mike Foster. In 2012, the group members were honored by being commissioned as Kentucky Colonels. They have been recognized by the Southern Texas Gospel Music Association for their ministry contributions.
